NW LONDON There are different traditions of acupuncture, all with their origins in the ancient Far East. The discipline of Five Element Acupuncture is based on the principle that the elements imprint themselves physically upon our bodies, by giving a certain colouring to the skin, a certain smell to the body and a certain cadence to the voice. Each is associated with particular emotion, Wood with Anger, Fire with Joy, Earth with Sympathy, Metal with Grief and Water with Fear. Each element is also associated with a specific organ and function of the body. Each of us has a constitutional element, and treatment is directed at correcting imbalances in the element which prevent us from leading our lives to the full.
Our three-year course leading to the Licentiate in Acupuncture is held primarily at the weekends. Graduates automatically become members of the British Acupuncture Council
